Nick Bosa Still Out for 49ers: Week Survivor-Pick Read

Oct 1, 2026

Bosa's calf keeps the 49ers' pass rush in limbo

Nick Bosa is still out. The 49ers pass rusher missed Week 3 with a calf injury, and GM John Lynch admitted a return date is murky — his words about calf issues being hard to pin down say plenty. San Francisco heads into its game against the Broncos without clarity on whether its best defensive player will be on the field.

What it means for your survivor pick

Bosa's absence weakens the part of the 49ers that drives their defense — the pass rush — so if you were leaning on San Francisco as a safe pick this week, know you're betting on a unit missing its centerpiece against Denver. Vague calf timelines tend to stretch, so don't assume he suits up just because he's a star. If the 49ers were your pick, keep tabs on the final injury report before locking it in, and have a backup in your back pocket.
