Lamar Jackson Nears Return: Ravens Survivor Picks, Weeks 6-9

Oct 14, 2026

The question survivor players are asking about Baltimore

Can you trust a Ravens team that just played a week without its franchise quarterback? That's the live question heading into Week 6. On Monday, head coach Jesse Minter said Lamar Jackson was "definitely doing better" after sitting out Week 5 with an ankle injury, and a report pegged his odds of returning this week as a "realistic chance."

For survivor players, "realistic chance" is not the same as "ruled in." That gap is exactly what you have to price into any decision to spend Baltimore this week.

What changed

Jackson missed Week 5 outright. Now the signals are trending up — the coach is talking him up, and the reporting suggests a return is on the table for Week 6. But as of Monday there's no confirmation he'll start Saturday against Cleveland. Ankle injuries for a quarterback whose game leans on mobility deserve a wait-and-see posture, especially when the pick is win-or-done.

The Week 6 read: Ravens at Cleveland

Baltimore is a 5.5-point favorite on the road against the Browns on October 18. That's a solid but not overwhelming number, and it comes with a meaningful asterisk: we don't yet know whether Jackson or a backup is under center.

If Jackson is confirmed active and looking right in warmups, a road favorite by nearly a touchdown is a reasonable survivor play. If his status is murky up to kickoff — or he's listed as questionable — this is a pick you treat with caution. Road games against division-level opponents are already the kind of spots survivor players scrutinize; adding quarterback uncertainty tips it toward wait-and-see. Confirm the inactives before you commit.

Looking ahead: Weeks 7, 8 and 9

The schedule gives you context for how to budget Baltimore over the next month.

Week 7 — Cincinnati at Baltimore

The Ravens return home as a 3.5-point favorite over the Bengals on October 25. A field-goal-and-change home line is thinner than you'd like for a confident survivor pick, and if Jackson's ankle is still a week-to-week story, the margin for error shrinks further. This is a game to monitor rather than pencil in.

Week 8 — Baltimore at Buffalo

Here's the one to avoid spending Baltimore on. The Ravens are road underdogs, with Buffalo favored by 2.5 on November 1. Underdogs are off the board for survivor purposes, so keep the Ravens on your bench and look elsewhere this week regardless of Jackson's health.

Week 9 — Jacksonville at Baltimore

Baltimore is back home and favored by 4.5 over the Jaguars on November 6 (a Thursday-night window). By this point Jackson should have a clearer health picture, and a mid-single-digit home favorite is the kind of spot that can make a clean survivor pick — assuming he's fully back and you haven't already burned the Ravens earlier.

Survivor takeaway

The trend is encouraging, but don't get ahead of the facts. Hold any Ravens pick until Jackson's Week 6 status is confirmed. If he plays, the -5.5 at Cleveland is usable; if he's limited or out, pass. Skip Baltimore entirely in Week 8 as a road underdog at Buffalo, and keep the Week 9 home date with Jacksonville in your back pocket as a cleaner option.
