Bears reopen the left tackle competition
Chicago's left tackle picture is unsettled again. After an injury to Ozzy Trapilo, the Bears are running a three-way training camp battle between Braxton Jones, Jedrick Wills and Theo Benedet to protect the quarterback's blind side.
That's a meaningful question mark up front. None of the three has locked down the job, and how the competition resolves will shape how well Chicago's offense can operate early in the season.

An unsettled left tackle spot is exactly the kind of detail to file away when you're deciding who to pick. Blind-side protection affects everything an offense wants to do, and until one of Jones, Wills or Benedet clearly wins the job, the Bears carry a bit more uncertainty than you'd like from a survivor lean.
